Summer Shooting & Scoring Camp
Take your game to the next level this summer with focused, elite shooting and goal scoring instruction that blends technical shooting mechanics with the proper mentality, poise, situational awareness, and confidence to score goals.
Camp Overview
This exclusive camp is built around game-like scoring scenarios, shot selection, and enhancing your shooting mechanics. Our unique format allows players to learn detailed fundamentals for each shooting technique and then move into game-like scenarios with goalies in the net to simulate real play. Our unique partnership with Billy Pye Goaltending Camp provides goalies at several stations, allowing the shooters to work on various shooting techniques, angles, timing, and deception. This model allows for maximum reps and individual feedback.

Off-Ice Shooting Mechanics and Techniques
Scoring goals is more than just shooting; more than just hoping – It’s controlled, targeted, mindful, technical, intentional, and purposeful. Our program focuses on more than just your generic overview of shooting techniques (Wrist Shot, Snap Shot, and Slap Shot). We Focus on maximizing your foundations and mechanics of each shot type and how to utilize the advanced technology in today’s modern sticks, which include:
Â
- Proper Body Weight Transfer
- Center of Gravity Control
- Puck Placement Prior to Release Point
- Hand Placement
- Blade Angle Awareness
- Impact of Release Points
- Post Release Acceleration
- Eye/Vision Awareness

The Various Shooting Techniques we will Focus on Include:
- Quick Release
- Change of Angle Releases (ie. Toe Drag Release)
- Slingshot or Intentional Delays
- Off-Leg Shots
- Shooting in Stride/Crossover
- Shooting off Passes
- Hip Rotation Sets
- Slap Shots
- One-Timers
- Scoops
- Backhands
- In-Tight Chips
- Deception

Jones Zone Shooting Room
We will use the Jones Zone Shooting room to work on these various shooting mechanics as well as utilizing the Classroom for Video Analysis. It is imperative to teach our players a slow mind, a tactical mind, a patient mind that is smooth and resourceful under pressure. When the opportunity to score arrives, rushing the process and getting overly excited usually never ends in a goal. Having poise, being mindful of the process, being aware of the situation, and having the proper tools, mechanics, and technical shooting foundation is required to be an elite modern goal scorer.
